Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling 2026 is the state-level admission process for every NEET UG 2026 qualified candidate hoping to study BAMS, BHMS, or BUMS at a government or private AYUSH college in Uttar Pradesh.

It is conducted jointly by the Department of AYUSH, Government of Uttar Pradesh and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), and it fills seats in colleges recognised by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) regulatory bodies governing Ayurveda, Unani, and Homoeopathy education in India.

Since the NEET UG Exam 2026 itself was delayed after a re-exam, the UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 schedule is delayed. However, UP AYUSH Counselling 2026 Round 1 schedule is released for admissions to BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS courses and registartion will start from 06 October 2026.

Types of Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling 2026

AYUSH admissions in Uttar Pradesh actually run through two separate counselling tracks, and it helps to know which one applies to you.

1. All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling – 15% Seats This covers 15% of seats in private AYUSH colleges, and is conducted centrally by the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) not by the state government. It’s open to candidates from anywhere in India, and it runs only for Round 1 and Round 2; leftover AIQ seats after that merge back into the 85% state quota pool.

2. State Quota Counselling – 85% Seats This is the “UP AYUSH Counselling” this guide is about, run by the Department of AYUSH, UP. It covers 85% of seats in both government and private colleges:

• Government college seats are meant almost entirely for UP domicile candidates.
• Private college seats under the state quota are open to candidates from any Indian state, UP domicile isn’t compulsory there.

Both tracks run across multiple rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a final Stray Vacancy round to fill any seats still left vacant.

Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling Eligibility Criteria

Before you start filling forms, make sure you tick every one of these boxes.

A quick note on domicile: if you passed both your High School and Intermediate exams from Uttar Pradesh, you don’t need a separate domicile certificate for government colleges. If even one of those exams was from outside the state (this includes Aligarh Muslim University as well), you’ll need a domicile/residence certificate issued by the competent authority.

Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling Process Step by Step

Here’s the entire process, from registration to admission, in the order it actually happens:

1. Online Registration – Sign up on upayushcounseling.upsdc.gov.in using your NEET UG 2026 roll number and application number.
2. Registration Fee Payment – Pay Rs.2,000 online.
3. Security Money Deposit – Pay Rs.20,000 or Rs.50,000, depending on whether you’re targeting government colleges, private colleges, or both.
4. Document Upload & Online Verification – Upload scanned copies of your certificates.
5. State Merit List Publication – Once verification is done, the state merit list of eligible candidates goes live.
6. Choice Filling & Locking – Choose and lock your preferred colleges and courses.
7. Provisional Seat Allotment – Seats are allotted based on merit, category, and your locked choices.
8. Physical Document Verification – Visit the designated Nodal Centre or allotted college with original documents.
9. Download Allotment Letter – Once verified, download your official allotment letter.
10. Report & Admission at College – Report to the allotted AYUSH college and complete admission formalities.

This cycle repeats for Round 2, Round 3, and finally the Stray Vacancy round for any seats still left vacant.

Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling Registration Process

Registration is the first and the easiest step, but small mistakes here can cause real headaches later. Here’s how to get it right:

• Go to the official portal: upayushcounseling.upsdc.gov.in
• Log in using your NEET UG 2026 roll number and application number.
• Fill in your personal details such as name, parents’ names, date of birth, category, sub-category, address, mobile number, and email ID.
• Use your own mobile number and email ID, not an agent’s or a friend’s, every OTP and important update goes there.
• Create a password and keep it to yourself.
• Pay the Rs.2,000 registration fee online (debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI). This is non-refundable and, once paid, covers your participation in Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3.
• Download and save your registration confirmation slip and fee receipt, you’ll need these later during document verification.

If you register in Round 1/2/3 but don’t get a seat and want to try the Stray Vacancy round, you’ll need to register afresh and pay a separate Rs.1,000 processing fee.

Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling Choice Filling

Choice filling is where your NEET rank actually goes to work for you, so it’s worth doing carefully.

• You can fill choices only after your security money has been successfully deposited.
• You’re free to select any number of available college-course combinations, in whatever order of preference you like.
• Locking your choices is compulsory and if you skip this, and no seat will be allotted, no matter how good your rank is.
• If you’re already admitted through Round 1 or Round 2 and want to try upgrading in the next round, you can fill choices again but don’t select the seat you’re currently holding.
• If you’re allotted a new seat in the upgrade round, your earlier seat is automatically cancelled, and joining the new one becomes compulsory.
• If you’re not upgraded, your existing seat stays untouched.
• In the Stray Vacancy round, there’s no further upgradation, whatever seat you get here, you’re expected to join it.

Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling 2026 Documents Required

You’ll need to submit documents twice: once online during registration, and again in original form for physical verification.

For Online Verification (upload at registration):

• High School (10th) or equivalent certificate
• Intermediate (12th) or equivalent marksheet
• NEET UG 2026 scorecard
• Reservation category certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile certificate (if applicable)
• Aadhaar card (or, if unavailable: driving licence, passport, PAN card, bank passbook with photo, or an ID card from your last educational institution)

For Physical Verification (originals + one self-attested photocopy each):

• NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
• High School and Intermediate marksheets/certificates
• Domicile/residence certificate, where applicable
• Reservation certificate – SC/ST/OBC/EWS/freedom fighter dependent/ex-serviceman dependent/disability/NCC where applicable
• One recent passport-size photograph, the same one used during NEET registration

Uttar Pradesh AYUSH Counselling Seat Allotment Process

Seat allotment happens across four stages, and each one works a little differently:

Round 1 & Round 2: After provisional allotment, get your documents physically verified at the Nodal Centre, download your allotment letter, and report to the college. Skip the physical verification, and you can still move on to the next round without paying security money again. But if you do get verified and then skip admission, your entire security deposit is forfeited.

Round 3: Once provisionally allotted a seat here, joining that college becomes compulsory. Skipping it means losing your full security deposit.

Stray Vacancy Round: Open only to candidates who didn’t get any seat in Rounds 1, 2, or 3. Physical verification is compulsory, admission is compulsory, and no further upgradation is allowed within this round.

Private college seats under the 15% All India Quota are counselled only in Round 1 and Round 2, anything left over merges into the 85% state quota pool from Round 3 onward.
