Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 is the state-level admission process for BAMS, BHMS and BUMS courses in Karnataka’s government, government-aided and private Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathy colleges. It is conducted online by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), the same body that runs Karnataka’s MBBS and BDS counselling, on the basis of the candidate’s NEET UG 2026 score and rank.
Any candidate who has qualified NEET UG 2026 and meets the minimum percentile fixed by the National Testing Agency can register for this counselling, whether the candidate is from Karnataka or from another state.
KEA allots 85% of seats in Government and Government Aided AYUSH institutions (the remaining 15% goes to the All India Quota), and 100% of seats State Quota, All India Quota and Management/NRI quota combined in Private Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathy colleges of Karnataka.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is the single conducting authority for Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026. KEA conducts centralised counselling covering:

Note: Meeting NEET UG eligibility and the minimum qualifying percentile makes a candidate eligible to register for Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026. Allotment of a seat under a specific reserved category, domicile clause, or special category (NRI, Religious Minority, Linguistic Minority, Kannada Medium, Rural, PwD, etc.) additionally requires the correct supporting certificates prescribed for that clause, produced in original at document verification.
Classification of Seats
AYUSH (and Medical/Dental) seats counselled through KEA are classified into four categories:

Each seat category has its own separate fee structure, so candidates must check the applicable fee before entering options.
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling Registration Process
Registration for Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 is entirely online through https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/KEA/ugneet2026. The process differs slightly depending on whether the candidate had already registered for UGCET-2026.
For Candidates Who Registered for UGCET-2026
- Log in to the KEA portal and use the link provided to add your NEET UG 2026 roll number to your existing UGCET-2026 application.
- No fresh registration or fee payment is required for this step.
- Download the application form and verify your UGNEET Roll Number as printed.
- Download the "UG Verification Slip" from the KEA website. Since your documents were already verified for UGCET-2026, you generally do not need to appear for physical verification again — unless you have claimed NRI Ward status or a category requiring in-person verification (such as Category-2 to Category-8 of St. John's Medical College, Bangalore), in which case you must appear in person with original documents.
For Candidates Who Did Not Register for UGCET-2026
- Visit cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ugneet2026 and select "UGNEET-2026 New Registration."
- Register within the notified window.
- Fill in your NEET UG 2026 details, personal details, contact details, domicile details, category details, and academic (Class 10 and 12) details.
- Upload the required documents/certificates as prompted on the portal.
- Pay the applicable registration fee, Rs. 750, Rs. 2,500, or Rs. 5,000 depending on your candidate category through the payment gateway using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Internet Banking.
- Submit the application. No changes to submitted details are entertained by KEA once the form is submitted.
- Retain at least two printouts of the finally submitted online application, your UGNEET-2026 Admit Card and Score Card, and two identical passport-size photographs used in the application, for future reference.
- Karnataka candidates claiming an eligibility clause must then appear in person for document verification with all original certificates, as per the schedule notified separately on the KEA website.
- Non-Karnataka candidates (purely Clause-Y) generally do not need to appear for verification; they only need to download the verification slip on the notified dates, except in specific cases (Z category, OCI/PIO/NRI/Foreign Nationals, NRI Ward, Religious Minority, or St. John's Medical College Category-2 to Category-8 claimants), who must appear in person with original documents.
- Once eligible after verification, proceed to choice/option entry once that window opens.

All original documents must be produced along with one set of self-attested photocopies, as applicable to the candidate's claimed category. If any document is missing at verification, the candidate's documents will not be verified, and the candidate will not be considered for option entry or seat allotment.
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 Option Entry
Option Entry begins only after the seat matrix is published by the Government and after document verification is complete. Key points are:
- Only candidates who become eligible after document verification can enter options.
- Log in to the Option Entry Portal on the KEA website using your CET/application number and password.
- Select the discipline (Medical, Dental, or AYUSH courses like BAMS/BHMS/BUMS) for which you want to enter options.
- Enter your preferred colleges and courses in priority order, there is no limit on the number of options a candidate can enter, and KEA advises entering as many options as possible to reduce the risk of not getting any seat.
- Save and submit your options, and take a printout for reference.
- Options can be revised any number of times before the notified deadline for that round. Options recorded on the server at the last date and time notified are frozen and are the only ones considered for that round's allotment.
- A Mock Seat Allotment is conducted before the First Round's real allotment — this is only indicative, to help candidates revise their priority order; candidates need not report to any college based on the mock result.
- Option entry done before the First Round remains the base list for subsequent rounds; candidates cannot add fresh options in later rounds except for colleges/courses newly added to the seat matrix, they can only reorder, delete, or add such new options.
Since seat allotment depends entirely on the priority order of options and the candidate's rank, KEA strongly advises doing "home assignment", writing down the preferred order of colleges and courses on paper and discussing it with parents before entering it online.
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 Seat Allotment and Choices After Allotment
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 seat allotment happens online, strictly in order of merit/rank and based on the priority of options entered by the candidate, following the Roster System for reserved categories.
Choices After First Round Allotment
After the First Round result, a candidate with an allotted seat must select one of these:

If a candidate fails to exercise any of these choices within the stipulated time, the allotted seat is automatically cancelled, and the candidate cannot participate in further rounds. Candidates not allotted any seat in a round must still log in and give consent to participate in the next round, failing to log in even once means the candidate is treated as not interested, and earlier options are disregarded.
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling Rounds
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 is conducted in the following stages, First Round, Second Round, Third Round/Mop-Up Round, and the Stray Vacancy Round.
First Round Seat Allotment
- All document-verified, eligible candidates who have entered and saved options participate.
- Allotment is based on merit, roster and priority of options.
- After results, candidates must select Choice-1, Choice-2, Choice-3, or Choice-4 within the stipulated time, or the allotted seat is automatically cancelled.
- Choice-1 candidates must pay the fee, download the Confirmation Slip, report to college with original documents, complete Online Face Recognition and OTP verification, after which the college downloads the provisional admission letter, this completes admission, and the candidate is not eligible for further rounds.
Second Round Seat Allotment (No New Registration)
- Eligible candidates: those who selected Choice-2 or Choice-3 in the First Round, and those not allotted any seat in the First Round.
- Choice-2 candidates retain their First Round seat as their "last option", only higher-order options (better than the First Round seat) are considered; if none is allotted, the First Round seat is retained automatically.
- Choice-3 candidates participate without holding any seat; if a seat is allotted in this round, it is confirmed, otherwise they have no seat.
- Candidates not allotted a seat in the First Round must log in and give consent to continue; failing to log in even once excludes them from this round.
- New seats can be added to the option list only if new colleges/courses are added to the seat matrix after the First Round.
Third Round/Mop-Up Round Seat Allotment (No New Registration)
- As per recent High Court orders, candidates who were admitted through the Second Round are now also eligible to participate in this round for upgradation, in addition to candidates not yet allotted a seat.
- Candidates allotted a seat in the Second Round must have already taken admission by paying the prescribed fee before they can participate in this round for upgradation.
- There is no further "Choice" mechanism after this round — candidates allotted a seat in the Third Round/Mop-Up Round must pay the fee (if not already paid), download the Confirmation Slip, report in person to the college with original documents, complete photo/OTP verification, and the college downloads the admission order.
- Failure to report to college after Third Round/Mop-Up Round allotment can lead to legal action against the candidate.
Stray Vacancy Round (New Registration/Enrolment Allowed)
- Conducted only if seats remain vacant after the Third Round/Mop-Up Round.
- Fresh registration is allowed in this round.
- Detailed instructions and the specific procedure for this round are published separately by KEA closer to the time.
- Once a candidate is allotted and reports in this round, no further rounds follow — this is the final round, subject to seat availability.

Key points:
- No surrender or cancellation of a seat is accepted after the Third Round/Mop-Up Round.
- Payment of penalty is mandatory for all candidates under Rule 12(2) of the CET-2006 Rules, no category is exempted.
- A candidate must formally surrender the seat to KEA in writing; simply not reporting to the allotted college is not treated as surrendering the seat and is considered "blocking" the seat, which can attract legal action.
- No surrender is accepted unless the candidate submits the original seat confirmation slip/admission order, original bank challan, and original verification slip.
- No requests for mutual transfer of seats between candidates are entertained by KEA at any time.
Karnataka AYUSH Counselling 2026 Document Verification
Document verification is compulsory for all Karnataka candidates claiming any eligibility clause, and is done in person at KEA (or designated verification centres, such as St. John's Medical College for its specific reserved categories). Key points are:
- The candidate should confirm the rank range, date and time of verification on the KEA website before appearing, no individual intimation is sent to eligible candidates.
- Original documents are checked against the data entered in the online application. After verification, originals are returned to the candidate, and KEA retains one set of attested photocopies.
- An acknowledgment-cum-verification slip is issued before the candidate leaves the verification counter, showing the candidate's details, documents verified, caste category, and the merit/rank for the relevant discipline.
- Candidates must check all details on the verification slip before leaving the counter, no changes or claims are accepted once the slip is issued.
- Non-Karnataka candidates (Clause-Y) generally do not need to appear for verification; they enter their 12th standard marks online, upload a single combined PDF of their NEET Score Card, 10th Marks Card and 12th Marks Card, and download the verification slip on the notified dates.
