The list of provisionally eligible candidates, ranked by NEET UG 2026 merit and category, is displayed on the GMCH website. Final eligibility for each category is determined only after scrutiny of original documents at the time of counselling. For BHMS specifically, the sequence of counselling is:
- Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category seats first
- General category seats next
- SC / OBC (NCL) category seats after that
If a candidate reports late, after their turn as per rank/merit has already passed, they are considered only against seats still available at that point and have no claim over seats already allotted. Personal appearance before the Counselling/Admission Committee is mandatory to claim a seat; merely attending counselling does not confer any right to admission.
Candidates belonging to a reserved category who qualify on the same standard as General category candidates ("Own Merit Candidates") are considered for General category seats too, in addition to their own reserved category, without being counted against their reserved category quota.

Admission Process After Counselling
- Attend counselling on the scheduled date, in the order of merit for your category.
- Undergo medical examination by the constituted Medical Board on the same day or the succeeding day of admission to the course; only candidates found medically fit are granted admission.
- Pay fees on the day of the medical examination if found fit. If a candidate does not deposit the prescribed fee in full, the candidature is automatically cancelled, and the vacancy is offered to the next candidate in merit order.
- Original certificates of selected candidates are retained by the institution, as per Ministry of Health & Family Welfare instructions, and are returned only if the candidate surrenders the seat in writing.
- All admissions to the BHMS course remain provisional, subject to approval by the relevant professional regulatory bodies.
If the information or documents submitted by a candidate are found to be fake, or information has been concealed, the admission is cancelled, the fee deposited is forfeited, and the candidate may also face legal action.
