Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 is the centralised admission process conducted by Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Punjab (GRAU), Hoshiarpur, for candidates seeking admission to BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), BHMS (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery) and BUMS (Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery) courses in government and private Ayurvedic, Homoeopathic and Unani colleges affiliated to the university.

GRAU conducts this counselling under the authority of the Department of Medical Education and Research, Government of Punjab, and admission is based purely on merit determined through NEET UG 2026, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for entry into AYUSH and other medical courses across India.

Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 covers 85% state quota seats, open only to bonafide residents of Punjab, and 15% all India quota seats in private colleges, open to eligible candidates from any state. Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 Registration Process

Follow these steps to complete Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 registration:

• Visit the official GRAU website, www.graupunjab.org, and read the prospectus and Punjab Government notifications carefully.
• Click on the online registration link for BAMS/BHMS/BUMS admission.
• Fill in personal details, NEET UG 2026 roll number and marks, academic details, contact details and category details.
• Upload a coloured photograph (minimum 35x45 mm, white or light background, maximum 30 KB) and a scanned signature (maximum 30 KB).
• Select the correct category code applicable to you. Once submitted, the category cannot be changed later.
• Submit the online admission application form.
• Pay the application fee through Debit Card, Credit Card or Net Banking.
• Note down the Registration ID and password sent to your registered mobile number or email. This is required for all further steps, including choice filling.
• Log in again during the choice filling window to enter your preferences of course, college, category and quota.
• Save and confirm your choices before the deadline. Take a printout of the submitted form for your records.

Hostel fee carries a 10% annual increase over the index year 2021, and mess charges are separate, based on actual consumption managed by students. Hostel accommodation is optional and not compulsory for any candidate.

Fee for a half year (4½ years total) is charged only in the applicable final semester. Fee is payable annually; colleges cannot insist on advance payment for the entire course, and if a candidate is shifted to another college in a later round, the fee already paid is refunded or adjusted within 45 days.

Domicile and Punjab Resident Status

For state quota seats, candidates must be bonafide residents of Punjab and must have passed both 10+1 and 10+2 examinations from Punjab (candidates who passed from a recognised institution in Chandigarh and are bonafide Punjab residents also qualify).

Certain categories are exempted from this condition, including children of Punjab Government employees posted outside the state, children of Central Government employees posted in Punjab for at least two of the preceding three years, children of defence and para-military personnel who belong to Punjab by service record, minority quota candidates, and NRI category candidates. If sufficient Punjab-domicile candidates are not available for a course, seats can be opened to candidates from other states strictly on NEET merit.

Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 Documents Required

• NEET (UG) Admit Card and Score Card - Mandatory for all candidates
• Certificate from Principal/Head of Institution Last Attended - Compulsory for all candidates (Annexure-I of the prospectus)
• Original Category Certificates (SC/BC/ST/OBC) - Candidates of these categories must report at the allotted college with original certificates for physical verification
• Sports Gradation Certificate - For Sports Category (Code 17) candidates, issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab; hard copy of the online form must be submitted personally at the allotted college
• EWS Certificate - For Economically Weaker Sections (Code 34), issued from the office of Tehsildar
• Certificates for Defence/Police/Freedom Fighter/Riot-affected Categories Original certificates required for physical verification at the allotted college for the respective category codes
• Residence/Domicile Certificate and Undertaking - As per Annexure-V and Annexure-VI of the prospectus (undertaking and residence certificate proforma)
• Affidavit on Authenticity of Documents - Compulsory for all candidates (Annexure-VII of the prospectus)
• Passport-size Photograph and Signature - Uploaded in soft copy at registration, as per the specified format
• Provisional Eligibility/Equivalency Certificate - For NRI quota candidates, obtained from GRAUP before applying

Note: Applications with false or fabricated documents are not considered, and such candidates are further debarred from participating in any counselling conducted by GRAUP.

Punjab AYUSH Choice Filling and Online Counselling

• Login to the University website using the Registration ID and Password issued after registration.
• Fill institutional preferences for course, college, category and quota carefully, in order of priority.
• Seats are allotted as per the merit of NEET UG 2026 and the order of preferences given by the candidate. Candidates are advised to be careful while ranking their preferences, since this directly determines the outcome.
• Save and submit choices within the notified schedule.
• Once allotted, download the provisional allocation letter after logging in.
• Report to the respective college with all original documents for eligibility checking, document verification and medical checkup.
• If satisfied with the allotted seat, a candidate need not participate in the subsequent round. If they wish to upgrade or change their seat, they must participate in the subsequent round of counselling.

Physical counselling is conducted only if online counselling is not permitted by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, for that academic year; otherwise all rounds are online.

Punjab AYUSH Counselling Rounds

Round 1: Candidates who registered online and paid the fee by the due date fill their college/course preferences. Seats are allotted based on NEET UG merit and preference order. Allotted candidates download the provisional allocation letter, report to the college for document verification, deposit the tuition fee by Demand Draft, and complete joining and medical checkup.

Round 2 and Subsequent Rounds: Candidates satisfied with their Round 1 seat are not required to participate further. Those who want to upgrade or change their allotted seat must participate in the next round. The schedule for these rounds is displayed separately on the university website once finalised, since it depends on vacancy positions after Round 1.

Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 Admission Process

• Check the seat allotment result after logging into the GRAUP counselling portal.
• Download the provisional allocation letter.
• Report to the allotted college with all original certificates, degrees, diplomas and other documents required, for physical verification of eligibility.
• Complete document verification. The Principal of the concerned Ayurvedic/Homoeopathy/Unani college is solely responsible for authenticating the eligibility of the provisionally allotted candidate before admission.
• Deposit the tuition fee in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of the Registrar, Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, payable at Hoshiarpur.
• Complete medical checkup and joining at the college within the stipulated time.

If a candidate fails to complete verification, fee deposit or joining within the given time, the allotted seat is cancelled automatically, without any intimation to the candidate.

All India Quota (AIQ) Seats

15% of the total seats across colleges are reserved under All India Quota, open to eligible NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates from any state. AIQ candidates pay a lower registration fee of Rs. 2,000 and follow the same online process on the GRAU portal, in line with the guidelines issued for State/UT Governments for conducting AIQ seats in ASU (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani) courses for 2026-27.

NRI Quota Seats

15% of seats in private institutes are for Non-Resident Indians, with priority given first to NRIs/children of NRIs originally from Punjab, and then to those from other Indian states. NRI eligibility is determined by GRAU, which issues an eligibility certificate. NRI counselling is held before counselling for other categories, and unfilled NRI seats after the second round move to the General category, in Government quota or Management quota respectively. NRI fee is Rs. 3,60,000 per year for BAMS and BUMS.

Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 Merit List

Punjab AYUSH Counselling 2026 merit list (State Merit list) will be prepared by GRAUP for the different categories in which a candidate applies, on the basis of the candidate's ranking in NEET UG 2026. Points to note:

• Merely applying for admission on the basis of NEET UG 2026 does not entitle a candidate to a seat; eligibility and merit are determined strictly by the Selection Committee as per the Punjab Government Notification.
• Candidates of reserved categories are also considered in open merit; if an open merit seat is available for them, that is allotted first, and only if not available is a reserved category seat allotted.
• Seat allotment is based on the merit list combined with the order of preferences (course, college, category, quota) filled by the candidate.
