Eligibility Criteria

These guidelines apply to students who are admitted to the B.H.M.S. (Degree Course) from the start of the academic session.

Qualification:

No candidate shall be admitted to the B.H.M.S Degree Course unless he has passed — 

the higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of twelve years’ study, with the last two years of study consisting of PCB with Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course of English as prescribed by the National Council of Education.

The candidate must have passed PCB, and English individually, and must have obtained a minimum of (50%) marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination mentioned above for unreserved candidates, and (40%) marks in respect of SC, ST, OBC.

For candidates with benchmark disabilities as specified in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the qualifying examination in PCB shall be (45%) for the general category and (40%) for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

For NRI: Any other equivalent qualification designated by the Central Government may be accepted for foreign national candidates, and the entrance examination for admission to under-graduate courses, namely the ‘National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), shall not be applicable for foreign national candidates.

Medical Fitness: No candidate shall be admitted to the B.H.M.S. if the applicant is blind (including color blindness), deaf, dumb, deaf, and dumb.

Entrance Exam: NEET Entrance Exam.

Native: Aspirants must be residents of Punjab.

Age: No candidate shall be admitted to the B.H.M.S. Degree Course unless he has attained the age of 17 years on or before the 31st December of the year of admission in the first year of the course and is not older than the age of 25 years on or before the 31st December of the year of admission in the first year of the course: Provided, however, that the upper age limit may be relaxed by five years for the SC, ST, OBC & PwD candidates.

Admission Process

Only registered candidates are eligible for the counseling, and without registration, no candidates are permitted to participate (online).

The Government of India will fill 15% of the total seats in the AIQ, while Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur will fill the remaining 85% of the seats in the Punjab Quota.

If 15% of the AIQ seats are not filled, Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur will make a decision to fill the remaining empty seats.

All NEET – 2023 qualifying applicants who wish to engage in counseling for UG State/All India quota seats must first register for counseling. Candidates who do not register in the first round of counseling may participate in the second and mop-up rounds after registering and paying the required fee.

Seats shall be distributed in accordance with the Punjab Government’s notification; the list of qualifying colleges/seats may be increased/decreased in accordance with the orders of the Hon’ble Courts/NCH/Govt. At the time of counseling, the final list of available seats will be displayed.

Online Registration/Counseling Error(s) If a candidate wishes to make changes to his or her online form, he or she may do so by login back into his or her online application form using the password issued by the University on or before the deadline for form submission. After the cut-off date for submitting online admission application forms, the online admission application form will be automatically locked. Following that, no requests for corrections to the admission application form will be entertained. Filling out more than one form for a single candidate may result in the candidature being canceled.

Registration: 

  • Candidates will only fill out an online admission application form via the GRAU website, www.graupunjab.org
  • Candidates are encouraged to complete the online admission application form before the deadline. 
  • After the due date/time, the online admission application form will no longer be available on the university website. 
  • Candidates are encouraged to complete the online admission application form well in advance to prevent network congestion in the final days.

Merit list: 

On the basis of the NEET(UG-2023 rating, a state merit list will be generated for each category in which a candidate applies.

Choice filling and locking

Candidate must only complete the online ADMISSION APPLICATION FORM once. Applications that are submitted more than once may be rejected.

Candidates must carefully complete the online admission application form, leaving no column blank, and entering ‘0’ (zero) if their Roll Number/Rank/Marks are not accessible.

Seat allotment: 

The candidate’s seat will be assigned based on the merit list and institutional preferences indicated in the online application form.

Report:

The candidate must report to his or her chosen college for eligibility verification, document verification, and a medical checkup. Candidates must present their original documents/credentials for verification.

Application Fee: 

a)After successfully completing the online admission application form on the university website, the admission application fee of Rs. 4600 (Rs. 3750 for SC students) shall be deposited solely using Debit Card/Credit Card/Netbanking.

b) In any event, admission application fees will not be accepted after the due date/time.

c) Only Admission Application Forms with fees received by the due date/time will be considered for counseling.

d) No requests to accept Admission Application Forms after the due date/time will be considered.

e) The mere payment of a fee does not entitle a candidate to admission.

f) Fees paid into the University Account will not be returned or altered in any way.

g) Candidates must deposit the fee through a payment gateway using a Debit Card/Credit card/Net Banking after successfully completing the online admission application form.

PROCEDURE OF ONLINE COUNSELLING AND JOINING AT THE COLLEGES

NEET-UG-2023 admission counseling for BAMS/BHMS/BUMS courses will be conducted online, followed by a physical counseling round (Offline). 

During online counseling, candidates will fill out an online counseling form in which they will indicate their course, college, category, and quota preferences. 

The seat will be assigned based on the NEET-UG – 2023 merit and the candidate’s order of preferences. As a result, candidates are recommended to exercise caution when filling out the order of preferences for the course, college, category, and quota. 

Candidates from reserved categories will also be considered in open merit; if an open merit seat is available, it will be assigned to them; otherwise, a reserved category seat will be assigned. There will be one round of online counseling and one round of in-person counseling. 

Candidates who have been provisionally assigned a seat can download a provisional allocation letter from the University website after logging in to their account and report to the corresponding college with all original documents for documentation and eligibility verification.

After verifying their original documents and eligibility, the principal of the relevant college will issue a bank challan for tuition fee deposit at any Axis Bank branch. 

After the payment of the tuition price, candidates will be required to return to the provisionally assigned college for their joining and medical checkup. If a candidate fails to follow the above-mentioned procedure, his or her assigned seat would be canceled automatically and without notice. 

If an applicant is pleased with the seat assigned to him or her during online counseling, he or she is not required to participate in the next round of counseling. 

If a candidate wishes to upgrade or modify his or her seat, he or she must engage in the second round of counseling and re-enter their choices for the course/college/category/quota. 

If an applicant wishes to leave the course/seat, he or she must submit an application to the individual college well in advance of the start of the next round of counseling. 

If a candidate’s seat is upgraded/changed in the future round of counseling and he/she has already deposited the tuition money, he/she is not obliged to deposit the fee again, unless there is a difference in fee, in which case he/she must deposit the difference.
