Government Ayurveda College Kannur is one of the reputed Govt. Ayurvedic Colleges in Kerala, known as GAC. The Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Government of Kerala, announced in the Budget Speech for 1991-92 the establishment of a new Government Ayurveda College in Kannur District. Dr.M.Govindan, Superintendent, Govt. Ayurveda College Hospital, Tripunithura, was designated as Special Officer for the College’s preparatory work. On May 10, 1991, he took over command. The college began operations in the old block of the Government Town High School Building near SN Park in Kannur.
Dr.M.Govindan was appointed as the first Principal on January 15, 1992, and the first batch of BAMS students began their studies on that date. Govt. Ayurveda College, Kannur was granted 35 acres of land in Kadannappally Village, Kannur Taluk, and District for the construction of buildings for the College, Hospital, Hostels, Quarters, and so on. With effect from June 1, 1998, the College’s operations were relocated to a newly constructed building in Pariyaram.
A 150-bed College Hospital has also been established at Pariyaram as part of this College for the purpose of providing clinical training to BAMS and PG students, as well as House Surgeons.

Step 1: Visit the AACCC counseling website (www.aaccc.gov.in).
Step 2: Register on the AACCC-UG portal using the same Email address and Mobile Number submitted during NEET-UG 2024 registration.
Step 3: Download the ‘Sandes app’ on your registered phone number to receive OTP for registration.

Stray Vacancy Round for AIQG/AIQGA/CU/NI
- Seats that remain vacant after the 3rd/Mop-up Round will be filled through the AACCC’s online Stray Vacancy Round.
- Eligibility for Participation:
- All registered candidates who were not admitted to any seats through AACCC-UG counseling or state/UT counseling.
Process:
- No fresh registration in the Stray Vacancy Round.
- Submit willingness in the AACCC-UG portal to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round with an undertaking that you do not hold any UG (ASU&H) seats allotted through AACCC-UG counseling or counseling conducted by State/UTs.
- Option for choice filling is available.
- No upgradation is available from the 3rd/Mop-up Round to the Stray Vacancy Round.
Stray Vacancy Round for Deemed University
- The respective Deemed Universities conduct the Stray Vacancy Round for seat allotment under Deemed Universities.
- AACCC will send a list of eligible registered candidates to Deemed Universities for the Stray Vacancy Round, which will be exercised strictly in order of merit.
- The seats are domicile-free, and only registered AACCC-UG counseling candidates are eligible for admission.
