Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College Palakkadu

Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College Palakkadu was founded by Santhigiri Ashram in order to carry out the goal of its founder, Guru Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru.

The first step towards realizing Guru’s goal in the field of medicine was to open an Ayurveda hospital. Guru started the hospital in Olassery, Palakkad in 1997, serving the needs of nearly 60 communities in the surrounding area. It is located next to Santhigiri Palakkad Branch Ashram and on the banks of Bharatapuzha’s tributary Sokanashini Puzha (a river that cures sorrows) in the midst of rice fields and palm trees in complete peace and tranquility.

In the year 2002, the college was founded. It seeks to develop a group of medical professionals with exceptional scholarship, a strong foundation in ayurveda, scientific knowledge in line with the fundamentals of ayurveda, extensive practical experience, and, most importantly, a grasp of the lofty ideals of Arogya Dharma Siddhantham as envisioned by the Guru.

Since 2010, Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur, has been a member of the College’s affiliation network. Calicut University once had a relationship with the college. The Department of AYUSH of the Indian Government has granted the college recognition by the National Commission for Indian System Of Medicine- NCISM.
