Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola is located in the shadows of the Dhauladhar Hills, blessed by Baba Baijnath (Lord Shiva), and on the banks of the Binwa Khud in Paprola.The college came into existence in the year 1972 by the name of Him Ayurvedic College as a private institution under the supervision of Himachal Pradesh’s Vaid Hakim Parishad. It was then affiliated with the Punjab faculty in Chandigarh. Later, on March 3, 1978, it was taken on by the Himachal Pradesh government and was affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University in 1979.
Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola is the only college of its kind in Himachal Pradesh. It is located on National Highway 20. The nearest railway station is Baijnath Paprola (Northern Railway). The nearest airport is Gaggal in Kangra District, which is 50 kilometres away from the college. The world-famous Lord Shiva temple of Baijnath is only 2 kilometres away from the college. The entire campus is surrounded by hills rich in herbal flora. Bir Beiling (the World’s No. 2 paragliding site), Sardar Shobha Singh Art Gallery, Bhattu Tibetan Monastery, Dalai Lama Palace at Dharamshala, the monolithic rock temple of Masroor, Pong Lake, and others are some of the beautiful tourist places located within a radius of about 50 kilometres.
The college is accredited by the National Commission for Indian System Of Medicine- NCISM, the government of India’s regulatory body for Ayurvedic education. It offers an undergraduate BAMS programme with an annual admission capacity of 75 students and postgraduate MD/MS programmes in all 14 departments with an annual admission capacity of 56 students. The college has a dedicated and experienced faculty of approximately 63 teachers who also work as consultants in the hospital to provide high-quality patient care. The college faculty also assists in the education of Jogindernagar’s pharmacy students. The college has its own Ayurvedic pharmacy called “Charka Ayurvedic Pharmacy.” The Department of AYUSH of the Government of India has designated the college as a model college. The prestigious “Regional Centre of Excellence in Geriatric Health Care” has been sanctioned by the Department of AYUSH, and financial assistance of Rs. 5 crores has been provided. The Department of AYUSH, Government of India, has recognized it as a centre for conducting CMEs for Ayurvedic Medical Officers and ROTPs for teachers of various departments of Ayurveda and has provided funds to do so.

Process:
- No fresh registration in the Stray Vacancy Round.

- Option for choice filling is available.
