Uttarakhand Ayurved University Act, 2009 established the Uttarakhand Ayurved University with the goal of ensuring effective and systematic instruction, teaching, training, research, and development in Ayurved.
Despite the separation of Uttarakhand from Uttar Pradesh, the state government has undertaken numerous efforts to bring socio-economic change to this backward state with severe topographical conditions. Despite its economic backwardness, the state is endowed with vibrant flora and wildlife, and it is particularly well-known for the immense potential of high-altitude medicinal plants and herbs. Economic and scientific utilization of such diverse resources could be a key source of total economic viability and sustainable growth, culminating in the radical economic expansion of local people.
In this regard, the state government has already taken several moves in this direction, and the development of the state’s first Ayurved University will undoubtedly be regarded as a big milestone in the internationally acknowledged field of Ayurved.
