Siddha medicine is a traditional healing system that originated in South India. It is considered to be one of India’s oldest medicinal systems. The Siddha system is founded on a blend of ancient medicinal practices, spiritual disciplines, alchemy, and mysticism. The Siddha system is based on five natural elements: earth, water, fire, air, and ether, all of which form the original foundation of all corporeal things. The macrocosm of the external world and the microcosm of the corporeal being are thought to be inextricably linked. The elements of earth are present in bone, flesh, nerves, skin, and hair; water is present in bile, blood, semen, glandular secretions, and sweat; fire is present in hunger, thirst, sleep, beauty, and indolence; air is present in contraction, expansion, and motion; and ether is present in the interstices of the stomach, heart, neck, and head.
The college has been approved by the Ministry of AYUSH in New Delhi, is recognised by the Tamilnadu government, and is affiliated with the Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University in Chennai.
