Admission in Ayush Colleges for New Session has begun After Rigging in Admission, Instructions given to Authorities to Complete all Preparations
The Departmennt of Ayush has decided and instructed the authorities to restart the admission process following the rigging of admission in Ayush colleges.
Ayush colleges have begun preparing for admission following the completion of two-phase MBBS counselling in Uttar Pradesh. The Department of AYUSH has directed all college authorities and principals to prepare for the new session. It has also been stated that areas where the central team has raised concerns about the system should be removed as soon as possible.
Rigging occurs from admission to tuition fees and studies due to the lack of any competent policy and control. The condition of Ayurvedic colleges in particular is dismal.
However, following admissions rigging in AYUSH colleges, the department is acting in haste. The counselling committee and agency are still up in the air. The central team discovered a shortage of teachers and a lack of labs in some government and private colleges during their inspection. In such a case, all colleges’ recognition is halted.
The department has directed that all college administrations make plans to inspect areas where the central team has not yet been inspected. On the other hand, if defects are discovered after inspection, they should be corrected as soon as possible and re-recognized. The recognition will be restored if the arrangements are found to be correct during the second inspection. By the time counselling begins, the department hopes to have resolved the issue of college recognition. Because if college recognition is stalled, counselling will be done by reducing the number of seats available.
How many seats are there currently?
So far, the state has 502 BAMS (Ayurveda) seats in 12 government-run colleges and 5010 seats in 58 private-run colleges. There are 828 BHMS (Homeopathic) seats in nine government colleges and 200 seats in four private colleges. Similarly, BUMS (Unani) has 128 seats in two government-run colleges and 670 seats in 18 private-run institutions.
