- 15% AIQ seats in private institutions and 85% State Quota seats are allotted simultaneously in the same round, but the merit basis differs: AIQ allotment considers all eligible candidates (any domicile) by overall merit, while State Quota allotment considers only Rajasthan-domicile candidates by category-wise merit.
Rajasthan AYUSH Counselling 2026 Counselling Rounds
- Round 1: Registration opens for the 15% All India Quota (private institutions), 85% State Quota, and NRI Quota simultaneously. Pre-document verification is done for PwD, Defence/Para-Military and NRI category candidates before Round 1 begins. This is followed by the provisional merit list, choice filling, counselling fee deposit, seat allotment, and reporting/joining.
- Round 2: Eligible for candidates from these groups, fresh candidates who did not register in Round 1; registered candidates who got no seat in Round 1; candidates whose Round 1 reserved-category seat was cancelled at document verification (considered afresh under the revised category); candidates who reported in Round 1 and want upgradation; and candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 who did not report. Candidates who became ineligible due to inadequate documents in Round 1 are not eligible for Round 2. Fresh choices must be filled for Round 2; Round 1 choices are not carried forward.
- Subsequent Rounds (including Stray Vacancy Round): Conducted as per the schedule and cut-off dates prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and notified separately by the Counselling Board. The procedure for eligibility, seat matrix, allotment and upgradation for each such round is announced through a separate official notification. As per the guidelines, State/UT authorities conduct 2 rounds of counselling for the 15% AIQ seats in Private ASU&H Institutions; AIQ seats remaining vacant after Round 2 are converted to State Quota seats and filled in further rounds as per State Government norms.
- Upgradation Rule: If a candidate is upgraded to a new college in a later round, the previously allotted seat is automatically cancelled and reallotted to another eligible candidate. Upgraded candidates must report in person before the Counselling Board (not directly to the college) to confirm the upgrade.
- Exit/Surrender Rule: A candidate can surrender a Round 1 allotted seat before the Round 2 schedule is released and get the counselling fee refunded. Surrendering a seat allotted in Round 2 or later results in forfeiture of the counselling fee.
NRI Quota
Rajasthan AYUSH Counselling 2026 reserves 15% of seats in private AYUSH institutions for the NRI Quota, with no reservation applicable within these seats.
- Priority order: NRI candidates with ancestral background in Rajasthan (self/parents/grandparents resided in Rajasthan for at least 5 years at any time) get priority; remaining vacant NRI seats are then filled by NRI candidates from other states.
- Eligibility: At least one parent must be an NRI residing abroad; or the sponsor must be a first-degree relation (real brother/sister) residing abroad as an NRI; or, in the absence of parents, specific near relatives (uncle, aunt, grandparents, first-degree cousins) can sponsor the candidate as guardian.
- OCI/PIO: Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are allowed admission under the NRI Quota.
- Required proof: A certificate from the Indian Embassy/Ministry of External Affairs confirming the sponsor's NRI status, or a notarized undertaking if such a certificate is unavailable; an affidavit from the sponsor undertaking to bear the entire course fee.
