S Ayurveda Mahvidyalaya (JSAM) was founded in 1938 by Vaidya Sundarlal Joshi, who was inspired by Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s patriotic feelings. This famous BAMS College in Nadiad is affiliated with the Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar, and is approved by the National Commission for Indian System Of Medicine- NCISM. . Previously, the institute was a grant-in-aid institute. In 2007, the managing organization, the Mahagujarat Medical Society (MMS), recognized the institute’s potential and decided to become self-financed in order to have a say in development decisions. This enabled the institute to work independently toward a common goal: professional development and advancement in the field of Ayurveda education, research, and health care system. Since that time, the college and hospital have made significant strides in both education and patient care.
