Dr Jiba Kanta Saikia Homoeopathic Medical College was founded on October 2, 1975, and was originally known as Assam Homoeopathic Medical College. Later, it was renamed Dr. J. K. Saikia Homoeopathic Medical College in honor of the main building’s donor, Dr. Jiba Kanta Saikia, the first Director of Health Service, Government of Assam. Since 1996, this institute has successfully run the undergraduate level of Homoeopathy (B.H.M.S).

The course was previously affiliated with Dibrugarh University, but it has now been transferred to Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Science in Guwahati, Assam. There are currently four batches of students enrolled in the BHMS programme, with students not only from Assam but also from other states in North East India serving as nominees. The college also contributes to the region’s health-care system by operating two peripheral outpatient clinics, three hospital outpatient clinics, and a well-equipped indoor teaching hospital.

Various health camps, awareness programmes, and other events are also held at various locations on a regular basis. This institute also maintains a Herbal Garden with an area of approximately 13378 square meters (ten bighas). This institute also very successfully maintains visits to pharmaceutical and forensic laboratories, research centers, and medical colleges of other systems, joining and organizing state and national level seminars, and so on to help students improve their clinical knowledge.

Stray Vacancy Round for AIQG/AIQGA/CU/NI

  • Seats that remain vacant after the 3rd/Mop-up Round will be filled through the AACCC’s online Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Eligibility for Participation:
  • All registered candidates who were not admitted to any seats through AACCC-UG counseling or state/UT counseling.

Process:

  • No fresh registration in the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Submit willingness in the AACCC-UG portal to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round with an undertaking that you do not hold any UG (ASU&H) seats allotted through AACCC-UG counseling or counseling conducted by State/UTs.
  • Option for choice filling is available.
  • No upgradation is available from the 3rd/Mop-up Round to the Stray Vacancy Round.

Stray Vacancy Round for Deemed University

  • The respective Deemed Universities conduct the Stray Vacancy Round for seat allotment under Deemed Universities.
  • AACCC will send a list of eligible registered candidates to Deemed Universities for the Stray Vacancy Round, which will be exercised strictly in order of merit.
  • The seats are domicile-free, and only registered AACCC-UG counseling candidates are eligible for admission.

  • Date of Birth Certificate (if 10th Standard Certificate does not bear the same)
