Dr Jiba Kanta Saikia Homoeopathic Medical College was founded on October 2, 1975, and was originally known as Assam Homoeopathic Medical College. Later, it was renamed Dr J. K. Saikia Homoeopathic Medical College in honour of the main building’s donor, Dr Jiba Kanta Saikia, the first Director of Health Service, Government of Assam. Since 1996, this institute has successfully run the undergraduate level of Homoeopathy (B.H.M.S).
The course was previously affiliated with Dibrugarh University, but it has now been transferred to Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Science in Guwahati, Assam. There are currently four batches of students enrolled in the BHMS programme, with students not only from Assam but also from other states in North East India serving as nominees. The college also contributes to the region’s healthcare system by operating two peripheral outpatient clinics, three hospital outpatient clinics, and a well-equipped indoor teaching hospital.
Various health camps, awareness programmes, and other events are also held at various locations on a regular basis. This institute also maintains a Herbal Garden with an area of approximately 13378 square meters (ten bighas). This institute also very successfully maintains visits to pharmaceutical and forensic laboratories, research centres, and medical colleges of other systems, joining and organizing state and national level seminars, and so on to help students improve their clinical knowledge.

- No fresh registration in the Stray Vacancy Round.

- Option for choice filling is available.

Stray Vacancy Round for Deemed University
- The respective Deemed Universities conduct the Stray Vacancy Round for seat allotment under Deemed Universities.
