Punjab Ayurved Medical College & Hospital was established in 1998 to serve the community through education. The society established a paramedical sciences college in Patiala in the year 2000, but the inspiration extended beyond this venture. The management decided to establish an Ayurved Medical College in 2003, and to open OPDs in Sri Ganganagar in 2004. Admissions to the BAMS course were not possible in 2005-06, for some reason.
The Ministry of AYUSH (Govt. of India) granted the permission to start a BAMS course with an intake capacity of 50 students in 2008, and Dr S.R. Rajasthan Ayurved University Jodhpur affiliated this college with the permission of the Govt. of Rajasthan. The college meets all of the requirements laid out by the NCISM, New Delhi, and will adhere to all of the NCISM’s norms, guidelines, and curriculum. This was the result of the members of the society working together on this project under the direction of founder president Dr S.L. Arora.
