What is the Unani system of medicine?

Unani medicine is one of the seven Ayush systems of alternative medicine that is thought to have originated in ancient Greece thousands of years ago but is now primarily practiced in India. This medical system focuses on disease prevention and treatment through the use of herbal remedies, dietary changes, and alternative therapies.

After Allopathy, Ayurveda, and Homoeopathy, it is the fourth most popular traditional and complementary system of medicine practiced in India. It works on the premise that the body has its own self-healing ability that needs to be enhanced.
