93 Gurus of Ayurveda to Train 201 Graduate Doctors: In a significant initiative, 93 esteemed Gurus of Ayurveda are set to impart their knowledge and expertise in Panchakarma techniques to 201 graduate doctors across the country. The training program, conducted under the revered Guru-Shishya tradition, is organized by the National University of Ayurveda, New Delhi.
Under this initiative, five seasoned Ayurveda doctors are prepared to lead VK Sido-Do sessions over five days each. The goal is to equip doctors with advanced skills in Panchakarma, enabling them to provide enhanced treatment to patients.
The courses, scheduled to commence on March 1, 2024, will run for a year, concluding on February 28, 2025. The focus is to train doctors in the comprehensive methods of Karma in the Ayurvedic system. Upon completion, these doctors are expected to contribute to the field by offering Ayurvedic treatments, with employment opportunities for their staff.
The program, managed by the National Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi, under the Ministry of AYUSH, aims to perpetuate the Guru-Shishya Parampara, providing Ayurveda doctors with insights into effective treatment methods.
Dr. N Pandey, an expert from Matra to Panchakarma, has been appointed as the National Guru. Alongside 92 other Ayurveda doctors, Dr. Pandey will provide direct Panchakarma training to graduate doctors in states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and others. The curriculum will not only cover treatment techniques but also emphasize understanding the patient’s nature for tailored care.
Additionally, Ayurvedic foods, designed for disease prevention, are set to be introduced in metro trains, buses, and planes. These dishes, prepared from Ayurvedic medicines, will be served during journeys, promoting a healthy lifestyle for commuters.
This initiative aims to significantly enhance the quality of Ayurvedic healthcare across the nation, fostering a new generation of proficient Ayurveda practitioners by 2025.
