Counselling Process – State Quota

Maharashtra AYUSH Counselling/Admission Process for BAMS, BUMS, and BHMS courses is designed to ensure that eligible candidates who have cleared NEET-UG 2024 can secure seats in these courses. Here’s a detailed overview of the process:

Registration and Eligibility

  • Eligibility: Candidates who have cleared NEET-UG 2024 are eligible to apply for AYUSH courses (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS) in Maharashtra.
  • Registration: Eligible candidates must register on the official Maharashtra State CET Cell website during the stipulated period to participate in the counselling process.

Rounds of Counselling

The counselling process consists of multiple rounds to ensure that all seats are filled based on merit and preferences.

CAP Round 1:

  • Candidates fill their preferences for colleges and courses during this round.
  • The merit list is prepared based on NEET-UG 2024 scores, and seats are allotted accordingly.
  • Candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat can secure it by submitting a Status Retention Form to the respective college, ensuring they will not participate in subsequent rounds.
  • Candidates who do not fill the Status Retention Form but wish to upgrade their seat can participate in further rounds.

CAP Round 2:

  • Seats unallotted in Round 1, along with seats vacated due to non-joining or cancellations, are available for allotment.
  • Candidates must fill fresh preferences for Round 2, as previous preferences will be considered null and void.
  • Candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1, or those who wish to upgrade their seat, can participate in this round.

CAP Round 3:

  • This round is for seats unallotted in Round 2 or vacated due to non-joining.
  • Like the previous rounds, candidates must fill fresh preferences, and previous choices will not be considered.
  • Candidates selected in this round must join the allotted seat, as there are no further rounds after this.

Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s):

  • If seats remain vacant after Round 3, Online CAP Stray Vacancy Round(s) will be conducted.
  • Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in the previous rounds can participate, but no new registrations will be accepted.
  • Allotment is done online, and there is no institutional-level round for any remaining vacant seats after this process.

Important Notes

  • Merit List Operation: The merit list will be operated from rank number one in each round, ensuring that higher-ranked candidates get priority in seat allocation.
  • Status Retention Form: Submission of this form is crucial for candidates satisfied with their allotment, as it locks their seat and prevents participation in further rounds.
  • Free Exit Option: Candidates selected in Round 1 or 2 who do not report to the allotted institute can use the free exit option, allowing them to participate in subsequent rounds without any penalty.

Reporting and Admission

  • Reporting: Candidates must report to the allotted college within the prescribed period with all original documents for verification and admission.
  • Document Submission: Candidates need to submit their original documents along with attested photocopies to secure their admission.
