About Homoeopathy:
One of the seven Ayush systems is homoeopathy. It is the most popular complementary medicine system. Homoeopathy is derived from two Greek words: ‘homoio’, which means similar, and ‘pathos’, which means’ suffering’, or ‘like cures likes’. Homoeopathy is a treatment method based on the concepts of individualization and holism. In terms of its origins and preparation, homoeopathy is a one-of-a-kind medical system. The method of preparation entails the potentization of medicinal substances to such a minute level that the most inert substance can become the most potent dynamic medicine, capable of stimulating the body’s self-healing capability.
Homoeopathy can successfully treat acute and long-term chronic diseases that allopathy cannot without side effects. Though this medical system originated in Germany, it has now become an integral part of the Indian medical system.
Homoeopathy as a Career:
A career in complementary and alternative medicine is in high demand today. Many prestigious homoeopathic colleges are run by the Ministry of Ayush, state governments, or self-financed institutions across the country. These provide recognised and formalized educational courses, training, and teaching in a variety of Homoeopathic courses. A dedicated autonomous research organization also runs a Postgraduate course.
