National Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital Lucknow was established in 1921. It is associated with Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, Gorakhpur and is recognized by the National Commission For Homeopathy (NCH) New Delhi.
G. N. Ohdedar planted the seeds of Lucknow’s first Homeopathic Medical College in 1912, which existed until 1920 when Dr. B. S. Tondon of Lucknow accomplished a tremendous feat by founding the National Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in 1921.
The original course offered in N. H. M. C. was a two-year H. M. B. course, which was later expanded to a three-year term from 1940 to 1949. A four-year diploma programme in B. M. S. was launched in 1950, and it was later associated with the Homeopathic Medicine Board in 1954. The Uttar Pradesh government provincialized it in 1968. The first five-year degree programme, known as G.H.M.S., began in 1958, and the college was associated with Agra University. In 1961, N.H.M.C. became Asia’s first-degree college in homoeopathy.
The tranquil atmosphere of the National Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital has been transformed into a hive of academic activity, for which the institution has garnered numerous awards and national distinction.
With its magnificent building, cleanliness par excellence, adequate infrastructure, in-house expertise, visiting faculty of exceptional quality, deliberations at Journal Club meetings/Case presentations/Seminars, and, above all, the interactive sessions of U.G. students with eminent homoeopathy stalwarts in seminars, symposia, and conferences, the institute provides a unique set of opportunities to students in their career journey.
This college’s curriculum is an excellent blend of academic knowledge and professional curiosity. All of the above prepare students for the complicated jobs of health care, teaching, and research and development.
