Private BUMS College in Tamil Nadu is notably absent in the state’s educational landscape. Despite the increased interest in Unani medicine, prospective students in Tamil Nadu seeking Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degrees come across an absence of private institutions that offer this discipline. This absence can be attributed to a number of causes, including the state’s very limited recognition and incorporation of Unani medicine, as well as the special hurdles connected with establishing private medical institutions.
AYUSH Counseling process is essential for securing admission in BUMS colleges in Tamil Nadu. Students with an eligible NEET exam score can take admission through counseling in these colleges. Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counseling will be conducted by the Directorate of Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy, Chennai for admission in 85% seats in government BUMS colleges and 100% seats in private BUMS colleges. The remaining 15% of seats in government colleges will be managed by the AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC).
