Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling

Tamil Nadu AYUSH counselling is an important process for securing admission into AYUSH courses in the state. The counselling is categorized into two main types based on the overseeing authority and the quota of seats being filled. AACCC conducts counselling for 15% seats in government AYUSH colleges and State counselling authority conducts counselling for 85% seats in government AYUSH colleges and 100% seats in Private colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Counselling Process for Government Quota Seats

1. Preparation of Rank List

  • Rank List: Candidates will be ranked based on NEET UG-2024 marks. The tentative rank list will be published on the official website: www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in.
  • Special Categories: A separate rank list will be prepared for Special Categories and 7.5% seats reserved for Government colleges students.

2. Preferential Admissions

  • Government Colleges Students: Admissions under the 7.5% preferential quota for Government colleges students will be conducted before the General Category. Candidates must provide their EMIS number.
  • Special Categories: Admissions for Special Categories will also be conducted before the General Category.

3. Bonafide Certificate

For Government Colleges Students Without EMIS Number: Obtain a Bonafide Certificate from the school attended from 6th to 12th grade, countersigned by the Chief Educational Officer.

4. Rule of Reservation

Merit and Reservation: Selection will follow merit-based counselling with the application of the reservation rules as per the Tamil Nadu Government:

5. Counselling Procedure

  • Counselling Authority: The Selection Committee is the designated authority for counselling for all Government quota seats.
  • Counselling Schedule: Candidates must attend counselling as per their rank. The schedule will be available on www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in.
  • Documentation: Original documents must be produced at the time of counselling for verification of self-attested photocopies.
  • Accompaniment: One parent or guardian may accompany the candidate. Mobile phones are prohibited in the counselling hall.
  • Option Finalization: Options exercised during counselling are final and cannot be changed.

6. Re-allotment and Movement Counselling

First Phase Counselling:

  • Special Categories: No re-allotment or change of college for seats allotted under Special Categories.
  • Government Colleges Quota: Seats allotted under this quota cannot be changed during the General Counselling phase.

Movement Counselling:

  • Vacancies: Vacancies arising from the first phase will be filled in the second phase of counselling.
  • Re-allotment: Re-allotment is based on merit and available seats. Candidates opting to stay in their previously allotted seat will not be considered for further movement.

7. Provisional Admission

  • Condition: All admissions are provisional and subject to verification of eligibility and correctness of provided information. Admissions may be cancelled if found ineligible.

  • Single Window System: Counselling will be conducted by the Selection Committee.

Note: It is mandatory for all candidates to take admission on their upgraded seats in the 3rd Round from Round 1 & 2 admitted seats. Such candidates, if not joined in the upgraded seats, are ineligible for any further AYUSH counseling (Central/State/UT/Central Pool Quota) and their security money will be forfeited.

Refundable Security Fee

The refundable security fee will be refunded to candidates after joining the allotted college within the stipulated time mentioned in the schedule. If a candidate does not get any seat during all rounds of counseling, the security fee will be refunded to the bank account provided by the candidate at the time of registration for AACCC-UG counseling.
