Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026 is the online admission and seat allotment process for undergraduate AYUSH courses in Tamil Nadu. The counselling is conducted by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Chennai. It covers BSMS (Siddha), BAMS (Ayurveda), BUMS (Unani), BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences) and BHMS (Homoeopathy) seats in government and self-financing colleges.

BSMS, BAMS, BUMS and BHMS, admission is based on the candidate’s NEET UG 2026 score and rank. BNYS follows a different admission basis, with the rank prepared using Class 12 science marks instead of NEET scores. Tamil Nadu natives are eligible for government quota seats, while All India Quota and Management Quota seats in self-financing colleges are open to eligible candidates from other states as prescribed in the prospectus.

The counselling process includes online registration, publication of rank lists, counselling registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, allotment order download, fee payment and reporting to the allotted college. Special categories and the 7.5% Tamil Nadu Government School quota are handled through separate in-person counselling before the general online allotment process.

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Round 1 choice filling was conducted from 17 September to 23 September 2026, the Round 1 allotment result was scheduled for 25 September, and candidates were required to download their provisional allotment order and report to the allotted college by 1 October 2026, 5:00 PM. For BNYS, Round 2 choice filling is scheduled from 30 September to 4 October 2026, followed by allotment processing and result declaration in October.

• Government quota: seats in government colleges.
• Government surrendered seats: seats self-financing colleges give to the government. Non-minority colleges give 65% of 85% of their sanctioned strength. Minority colleges give 50% of 85%.
• All India Quota (AIQ): 15% of seats. The Tamil Nadu Selection Committee counsels AIQ seats in self-financing colleges. Candidates from other states who want AIQ seats in government colleges must apply through www.aaccc.gov.in.
• Management quota: 35% of 85% in non-minority self-financing colleges and 50% of 85% in minority colleges.

A candidate who wants government, AIQ and management quota seats must apply and pay separately for each.

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026 Application Form and Registration Process

The online application closed on 7 August 2026, 5:00 PM, and no further extension will be given. Fresh applicants can come in only through the Stray Round, where they pay the registration fee again. Candidates who already applied and are in the rank list register for counselling on the same portal.

Steps for the Tamil Nadu AYUSH counselling registration process

• Go to www.tnayushselection.org.
• Register as a new user to create a username and password. You will use the same login for counselling.
• Fill in the application form. It asks for your name, parent or guardian name, address, mobile number, email, gender, date of birth, community and caste, religion, mother tongue, nativity and Aadhaar number.
• Enter your NEET details: roll number, register number, score, All India Rank and number of attempts. BNYS candidates enter Class 12 marks instead.
• Enter qualifying exam details: Class 12 roll number, year of passing, EMIS number, marks, medium of instruction, and details of schools studied in from Class 6 to 12.
• Enter parent occupation, annual income, native district and special category code, if any.
• Upload the photo (the same one used in NEET) and your signature in JPEG. The signature must be in running handwriting, 4 KB to 20 KB. Initials or capital letters are rejected. Upload documents in PDF.
• Pay the application fee online by debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI or wallet. A bank deduction alone is not proof of payment.
• Submit and download your filled form. You cannot change details after submission.
• Special category candidates send the printed form with documents to the Secretary, Selection Committee, at the Arumbakkam address, by post, courier or in person.
• After the rank list is out, log in and complete counselling registration by paying the processing fee. Registration is allowed before Round 1, Round 3 and the Stray Round. Round 2 is a re-allotment round, so fresh registration is not allowed. Only upgradation registration is held.
• Fill and lock your choices. Pay the advance tuition fee as the portal asks.
• After the result, download the provisional allotment order and report to your college.

Processing fee is not required in Round 2 for candidates seeking upgradation, not-joined candidates and unallotted candidates. Special category candidates who attend in person pay Rs.500 in cash. If they get no seat, they need not pay it again for general online counselling.

The advance tuition fee is refundable if you are not allotted a seat, or if you skip or leave a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 before the cut-off date. It is forfeited if you do not join a seat allotted in Round 3 or later, or if your admission is cancelled.

The Selection Committee pays no interest. Refunds go to the bank account in your application, so enter it correctly.

Documents are uploaded online and verified in original at counselling or at the college. Special category and 7.5% candidates carry originals to the in-person session.

Originals plus attested photocopies of Class 10, 11 and 12 mark sheets, transfer certificate, proof of study (if applicable), community, nativity, eligibility, migration and special category certificates. You also submit a physical fitness certificate, a Hepatitis-B vaccination certificate, a signed agreement bond and a discipline declaration.

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026 Choice Filling

• Log in with the username and password you created at application.
• Pay the processing fee and advance tuition fee as the portal shows. Payment is needed before you can submit choices.
• Pick courses and colleges from the list shown for your eligibility. Government and government surrendered seats use one common software.
• Add as many choices as you like. Put them in your true order of preference.
• Save and review. You can edit choices until you lock them.
• Lock your choices before the closing time. If you do not lock, saved choices are locked automatically as per the schedule.

Locked choices cannot be unlocked, even by the Selection Committee. A choice you never wanted can turn into an allotment, so list only seats you would join. If you fill no choices, you get no seat. In Round 2 you must fill fresh choices to be considered, otherwise you keep the seat you already joined. In Round 2, seats of candidates who opted for upgradation show as virtual vacancies. They turn real only if that candidate vacates.

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling Rounds

There are four rounds. Rounds 2, 3 and the Stray Round take place only if seats remain vacant.

• Round 1: Candidates fill and lock choices, get a result, download the allotment order and report. A candidate who joins and wants to move up must join the Round 1 college physically and then take part in Round 2.
• Round 2: If you are upgraded, you lose your earlier seat, which goes to another candidate in descending rank order. If you are not upgraded, you keep your joined seat. Fill only choices you prefer over your current seat.
• Round 3: The same upgradation logic applies. A candidate joined in Round 3 under any quota cannot take part in further rounds this year.
• Stray Round: Vacancies after the Stray Round stay vacant.

For Round 3 and the Stray Round, downloading the allotment order after paying the fee counts as joined. You must still report to the college within the time given, or you are treated as discontinued and lose the advance tuition fee.

• Free exit and cut-off: The “stipulated date” is the day before Round 3 registration begins. Leaving on or after the last cut-off date set by the Ministry of AYUSH means a Rs.1,00,000 penalty by demand draft, as per the signed bond. No admission, re-allotment or transfer is allowed after the cut-off date.

A community certificate from another state is not accepted for reservation. The candidate is treated as Open Category.

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026 Admission Process After Allotment

• Download the allotment order on the portal before the deadline. If you miss it, it cannot be downloaded later.
• Pay the extra tuition amount if your seat is in a self-financing college (Rs.5,000 for government surrendered seats, Rs.15,000 for AIQ and management quota seats).
• Report to the college on or before the date in the order. Colleges have different holidays and working hours, so go early. The Selection Committee cannot extend reporting dates.
• Submit original documents to the Principal for verification. Admission is cancelled if originals are not produced.
• Submit the extra papers: physical fitness certificate (from a registered practitioner not below Assistant Surgeon or “A” Class rank), Hepatitis-B vaccination certificate, signed agreement bond and signed discipline declaration.
• Registration with the university: Only candidates admitted through the Selection Committee are registered with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Your advance tuition fee is adjusted against the college tuition after the university’s Registration Sub-Committee meets.
• Check ragging rules: Ragging leads to removal and criminal action.

Allotments are provisional. They can be cancelled if details are found false or incomplete. Admission does not guarantee government employment.

Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026 Merit List – Rank List

Selection Committee prepares the provisional rank list. It publishes it on www.tnayushselection.org. Your Application Registration (A.R.) number appears in the list. How the rank is decided:

• BSMS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS: Rank is based on marks in NEET UG 2026. Seats are allotted from this list applying the rule of reservation.
• BNYS: Rank is out of 200. It adds the percentage in Physics and Chemistry together (X) to the percentage in Biology or Biotechnology (Y), or Botany and Zoology together (Z). Marks from other boards are normalised against the Tamil Nadu State Board. Ties are broken in this order: Biology (or Botany and Zoology) percentage, Chemistry percentage, fourth optional subject, date of birth (older candidate first), then a random number.
• Special categories and 7.5% quota: Separate rank lists are prepared. Special category rank is completely different from general rank. You cannot claim the same rank in both.

Seats are allotted online. There is no manual allotment. Allotment depends on four things:

• Rank: higher ranks are considered first.
• Preferences: your locked choice order.
• Category: the Tamil Nadu rule of reservation, with the 7.5% and special category seats handled first.
• Availability: only seats vacant at your turn can be allotted.

After allotment:

• Download the provisional allotment order within the dates on the portal. A missed download cannot be redone.
• Pay the additional tuition amount if your seat is in a self-financing college.
• Report to the college before the deadline.

Special category candidates allotted a seat cannot be re-allotted or change colleges. Those allotted under the 7.5% quota cannot join general counselling. Candidates cannot swap seats or request college transfers.

Seats are reserved for children of ex-servicemen, eminent sports persons, persons with benchmark disabilities (5% of government seats), candidates from deficient states and union territories, BIMSTEC countries, Malaysia, and heirs of hereditary Siddha, Ayurveda and Unani practitioners. It keeps 25 seats in BSMS (excluding five Malaysian seats), 6 in BAMS, 7 in BUMS and 7 in BHMS for the special categories. Unfilled special seats go back to the general pool. 1 seat each for ex-servicemen and eminent sports persons in each course, and 2 seats for persons with benchmark disabilities.

A. For BSMS, BAMS, BUMS and BHMS, you need an Indian citizen status, a qualifying NEET UG 2026 percentile (50th general, 40th for reserved categories), Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and age of 17 by 31 December 2026. Government quota needs Tamil Nadu nativity. BNYS needs Class 12 science marks of 35% to 50%, depending on category, instead of NEET.

Q. What is the registration fee for Tamil Nadu AYUSH Counselling 2026?

A. The application fee is Rs.500 for government quota (SC, SCA and ST natives of Tamil Nadu exempted) and Rs.1,000 for AIQ and Management Quota. The processing fee is Rs.500 for government quota and Rs.1,000 for AIQ and Management Quota. Advance tuition fee is separate, from Rs.5,000 to Rs.25,000.
